Keyboard Shortcuts in Microsoft Edge
Keyboard shortcuts are keys or combinations of keys that provide an alternate way to do something you’d typically do with a mouse. Here’s the list for the new Microsoft Edge and Microsoft Edge for Mac.
General Shortcuts
- Ctrl + N: Open a new window
- Ctrl + Shift + N: Open a new InPrivate window
- Ctrl + T: Open a new tab
- Ctrl + W: Close the current tab
- Ctrl + Shift + T: Reopen the last closed tab
- Ctrl + Tab: Switch to the next tab
- Ctrl + Shift + Tab: Switch to the previous tab
- Ctrl + 1, 2, … 8: Switch to a specific tab
- Ctrl + 9: Switch to the last tab
- Alt + F4: Close the current window
Navigation Shortcuts
- Alt + Left Arrow: Go back
- Alt + Right Arrow: Go forward
- F5: Refresh the page
- Ctrl + R: Refresh the page
- Esc: Stop loading the page
Address Bar Shortcuts
- Ctrl + L: Select the address bar
- Alt + D: Select the address bar
- Ctrl + Enter: Add “www.” to the beginning and “.com” to the end of text in the address bar
- Ctrl + K: Duplicate the current tab
Other Shortcuts
- Ctrl + P: Print the current page
- Ctrl + S: Save the current page
- Ctrl + O: Open a file from your computer
- Ctrl + Shift + O: Open the Favorites management page
- Ctrl + H: Open History in a new tab
- Ctrl + J: Open Downloads in a new tab
